[aur-requests] [PRQ#28871] Deletion Request for coreutils-arch
yochananmarqos [1] filed a deletion request for coreutils-arch [2]: What is the -arch suffix supposed to mean? "The submitted PKGBUILDs must not build applications already in any of the official binary repositories under any circumstances. Check the official package database for the package. If any version of it exists, do not submit the package. If the official package is out-of- date, flag it as such. If the official package is broken or is lacking a feature, then please file a bug report." https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AUR_submission_guidelines#Rules_of_submissi... It's not a suffix. The package contains the `arch` command, which comes from the coreutils source code repository but is not built by default and therefore is not included in Arch's coreutils package. `arch` is a dependency of certain proprietary software and build scripts. For more information, you can install the package and run `man arch`. -Alex
Request #28871 has been rejected by ainola [1]: As the maintainer mentions, this is not some strange suffix but instead denoting a specific binary called "arch" that is not built by default. This is a legitimate package. :) [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/ainola/
