[aur-requests] [PRQ#19031] Deletion Request for deepspeech-bin
gobennyb [1] filed a deletion request for deepspeech-bin [2]: This package is a direct copy of my package, libdeepspeech, with a few tweaks for the name and version. The PKGBUILD file even has my name on it, as you can also see in libdeepspeech's PKGBUILD. My package, and the related package deepspeech-models, are both up-to-date, so I think this package should be deleted in favor of keeping mine. hello, the package should be named deepspeech-bin, not libdeepspeech (we must retain the upstream name), the -bin suffix is added to indicate we repackage binaries. I added you as maintainer. xan. ________________________________ From: notify@aur.archlinux.org <notify@aur.archlinux.org> Sent: Sunday, April 26, 2020 7:18 AM To: aur-requests@archlinux.org <aur-requests@archlinux.org> Cc: xantares09@hotmail.com <xantares09@hotmail.com>; mactech96@gmail.com <mactech96@gmail.com> Subject: [PRQ#19031] Deletion Request for deepspeech-bin gobennyb [1] filed a deletion request for deepspeech-bin [2]: This package is a direct copy of my package, libdeepspeech, with a few tweaks for the name and version. Request #19031 has been rejected by Alad [1]: Sorry, but deepspeech-bin is the correct naming for a package that contains binaries, yet can be compiled from source (see the deepspeech package). If you think deepspeech-bin was a direct copy and you should maintain it instead, please either ask the new maintainer to be comaintainer, or file an orphan request.
