[aur-requests] [PRQ#25505] Deletion Request for pacman-hooks-desbma-git
diabonas [1] filed a deletion request for pacman-hooks-desbma-git [2]: According to the AUR submission guidelines [1]: "Make sure the package you want to upload is useful. Will anyone else want to use this package? Is it extremely specialized? If more than a few people would find this package useful, it is appropriate for submission." I don't think this package fulfils this requirement. I appreciate that the single pacman hooks packaged here can be useful on its own, but I don't think their collection is something that should be in the AUR, as evidenced e.g. by "Note that you probably want to edit files, or create your own package rather than directly install this one because some values are hardcoded for my own specific needs." in the upstream README [2] or the fact that it includes a hook for one specific window manager (xmonad). The pkgdesc "Various personal Pacman hooks" is also not helpful at all. I suggest uploading the single pacman hooks as separate AUR packages with a meaningful name and description. As a general rule, packages which are so specialised that you need to include your username in the package name to describe what they do are not a good fit for the AUR.
