Request #12050 has been rejected by Eschwartz [1]: packages "last updated 2 years ago" don't necessarily stop working, and in this case you've given no indication why you believe this has stopped working. If you're referring to the latest comments, it's entirely normal for people who don't know how to use the AUR and don't install AUR dependencies, to get errors when makepkg cannot find those dependencies in the official repos.
