[PRQ#40485] Deletion Request for scalafmt-native
swsnr [1] filed a deletion request for scalafmt-native [2]: No updates since 2019, source URL no longer exists, missing -bin suffix for a binary package. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/swsnr/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/scalafmt-native/
Hello, A few things I want to highlight: - Source still exists but the url has changed over the years, thus this is an issue with the maintainer being gone. - Not being updated for 4 years is grounds for an orphan and a new maintainer to adopt the package. - The -bin suffix is easily fixed. For any TU here, I am submitting an orphan request, I will take this package. The maintainer has already said they had moved from Arch Linux to MacOS, see the following comment on the AUR page: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/scalafmt-native#comment-720600 I am not sure if it would be worthwhile updating the package when it comes to my personal time, but I don't really care I will still take it on :) Thanks, -- Polarian GPG signature: 0770E5312238C760 Website: https://polarian.dev JID/XMPP: polarian@polarian.dev
Hello, I just wanted to say I have adopted and began work on fixing the package, and actually making it a source package instead of a bin package (as it does not contain the -bin suffix). For more information on the rewrite to make it compliant, please check the Pull Request here: https://onedev.polarian.dev/polarrepo/scalafmt-native/~pulls/1 Please DO NOT accept this deletion :) Thank you, -- Polarian GPG signature: 0770E5312238C760 Website: https://polarian.dev JID/XMPP: polarian@polarian.dev
Hello,
Hi Polarian
I just wanted to say I have adopted and began work on fixing the package, and actually making it a source package instead of a bin package (as it does not contain the -bin suffix).
Almost 2 months have passed but there were no changes or updates from you about this package, plus the issue #3490 seems to be stagnant The current AUR package still points to inexistent sources, resulting to be broken.
For more information on the rewrite to make it compliant, please check the Pull Request here:

The website seems not to exist, plus the current package state is still broken.
Please DO NOT accept this deletion :)
Do you expect to update the package within a week? If not I'll accept the deletion request. You're free to re-submit the package again when you fixed it. best regards -- Fabio Castelli aka Muflone
Hi Polarian
Hello :)
Almost 2 months have passed but there were no changes or updates from you about this package, plus the issue #3490 seems to be stagnant
Yeah, I am aware, I have made progress but I have been busy over the past 2 months with coursework, but that is done now.
The current AUR package still points to inexistent sources, resulting to be broken.
Yes, I am aware.
The website seems not to exist, plus the current package state is still broken.
Yeah, I forgot about this. My onedev instance had a failure, where all the data was lost, the repositories are still safe but all the platform specific data like issues and pull requests was destroyed due to a failed update, onedev stores code and data in the same directory which was its downfall. I contacted the developer and requested a major fix where he follows unix conventions and stores the data and code in different places on the filesystem, he refused and thus I parted ways. I am still aware this needs to be fixed, the repository and changes exists but without a frontend currently.
Do you expect to update the package within a week? If not I'll accept the deletion request. You're free to re-submit the package again when you fixed it.
I might be able to, I was trying to wait for the developers to get back to me but it does not seem to be the case. I have one lead which is that graalvm11 on the AUR is missing dependencies within its PKGBUILD, which is causing it to fail when building in a clean chroot. I have managed to get it to build on my laptop, so it is possible to build, but there seems to be missing dependencies, so I am on the home mile to fixing the package. Give me a week and if it still doesn't work, I will allow the package to be deleted. Thanks, -- Polarian GPG signature: 0770E5312238C760 Website: https://polarian.dev JID/XMPP: polarian@polarian.dev
