[aur-requests] [PRQ#15978] Deletion Request for adhocspot-script
FredBezies [1] filed a deletion request for adhocspot-script [2]: Hosting sources on AUR. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/FredBezies/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/adhocspot-script/
If this is a deletion reason, I can move the sources. Btw., many packages have files (notably shell scripts) in the AUR, they could also put on some other place in the internet. Here it is also just one shell script. What is the key difference here? You'll have to.

Just ask trusted users. I think it doesn't follow AUR guidelines. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_submission_guidelines "Submitting binaries should be avoided if the sources are available. The AUR should not contain the binary tarball created by makepkg, nor should it contain the filelist." I think this is this rule. -- Frederic Bezies fredbezies@gmail.com

I would say a shell script is not a binary. And the sources are not available somewhere else, since they are exactly in the AUR. It does not contain the tarball created by makepkg. So I await what the admins say.
Request #15978 has been rejected by Alad [1]: This is a more complex program that otherwise does not go against the submission guidelines. The least we can do is ask the submitter to host it elsewhere before filing for deletion. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/Alad/
