[aur-requests] [PRQ#35217] Deletion Request for lib32-ffmpeg-compat-57
MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for lib32-ffmpeg-compat-57 [2]: Orphaned package, last updated in 2020, packaging a very old ffmpeg 3.4.2 released in 2018. After researching, I've found only one consumer: AUR/lib32-ffmpeg-steam, which is only a compatibility link package. The latter was created in 2020 as a temporary workaround for a bug in the then-current Steam for Linux runtime and its built-in ffmpeg.[a] That bug was fixed by Valve in Spring 2021. [b] Therefore this long-unmaintained package is not needed anymore, can be deleted. (Submitted a separate deletion request for AUR/lib32-ffmpeg-steam based on the same conclusion.)
