[PRQ#57996] Orphan Request for octopi
xiota [1] filed an orphan request for octopi [2]: Package saves to non-unique filename "octopi", lacking both version and extension. This is known to cause problems when rebuilding new versions of packages or when `SRCDEST` is set. Arch Wiki describes the problem and provides a solution [a]. Maintainer was notified in comments. Multiple solutions were provided by multiple users. However, maintainer has refused to correct the defect. If maintainer is unwilling or unable to fix this package, it should be orphaned so someone else may do so. The orphan request is still relevant. Please do not close for reason "recently updated". The maintainer pushed a commit that merely bumps pkgrel without making any attempt to fix issues associated with the source format and incorrect file naming [a]. It is unfortunate that you added the demonstration of the problem after my response. I must admit that I was somewhat offended by your response "I am not interested in helping you reproduce issues caused by misnamed files". After much thought, I have lost the motivation to maintain packages for the community. Therefore, I am making my packages orphaned. I opened the orphan request [a] when it appeared you had no intention of fixing the package [b]. You have since had 9 days to review comments and change your mind. You even posted on Aur-general, where someone unrelated to the issue confirmed the problem. [c] Solutions had been provided for you to copy and paste.
