MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for mate-panel-gtk2 [2]: Unneeded legacy MATE package from 2017. Its Python2 and Gtk2 based consumers from same year fail to build from source, and are submitted for deletion. Arch repo carries the latest, working versions of MATE desktop components.
