Eschwartz [1] filed a request to merge emacs-bbdb [2] into bbdb [3]: Historically a duplicate of [community]/bbdb which was recently dropped to the AUR. This duplicate has an absent maintainer and neglects some nice things like PGP signatures, plus bbdb users will most likely have used the community package rather than searching the AUR so there doesn't seem much reason to keep this one instead.
