Not sure that this renaming is a good choice. Usually we are using the -git suffix to indicate that the package is VCS one and builds from git. So I'm afraid such renaming will cause a some confusion for users. Request #4104 has been rejected by Muflone [1]: This is poor choice to rename the python-gitpython package to python- git as the -git suffix refer to the git version of a package. The users will expect the python-git package will offer the git version of the python package. Please delete the python{,2}-git package and keep the python-gitpython [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/Muflone/
