[PRQ#42120] Deletion Request for winbox64
MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for winbox64 [2]: Unneeded duplicate of AUR/winbox. Latter package also uses the 64-bit binary release of Mikrotik user configuration utility. This package unneededly links to AUR/wine-x64, whereas the application can run with any WINE variants, including those carried by Arch repos. AUR/winbox sets its dependency on wine correctly. When I created the package, the winbox package did not use the x64 binary of winbox. I still find winbox64 useful as it does not require wine and a ton of 32-bit libraries as dependencies. On Tue, 13 Jun 2023 09:15:14 +0000 notify@aur.archlinux.org wrote:

Hi Alexander, You can install a 64-bit only wine and the winbox package, it will work. As AUR/winbox now uses the 64-bit installer. So I think there is no need to have this duplicate package now. The AUR/winbox package gives the users the flexibility of choosing either a 32/64 bit wine, or a pure 64 bit wine. On 14 June 2023 19:39:53 GMT+02:00, "Alexander Brügmann" <mail@abruegmann.eu> wrote:

aur/winbox requires 'wine' but wine-x64 does not provide 'wine' for good reason. You would still need to enable multilib and install the 32bit libs required for wine.
@abruegmann, you don't need to enable multilib repo if you don't want to. Just install AUR/winbox and AUR/wine-wow64 and everything should build and work fine. On 19 June 2023 22:28:48 GMT+02:00, "Alexander Brügmann" <mail@abruegmann.eu> wrote:
