[PRQ#39110] Deletion Request for tlauncher-org
MythicalNewt [1] filed a deletion request for tlauncher-org [2]: tlauncher-org is malware and potentially spyware unlike its open source alternative tlauncher legacy which is in the aur as tlauncher. For further evidence suggesting that this is malware take a look at this youtube video: https://youtu.be/SBTH9n6lz9o . The package as downloaded from tlauncher.org on windows is known to change registry keys and also be able to see all activity on the device. Request #39110 has been Accepted by serebit [1]: After some discussion in the staff channels, I believe this software should not be included in the AUR. The deletion report cited a YouTube video that points out security concerns with the Windows version, and some investigation found that not only does the launcher inject running Minecraft instances with its own form of "protection", it also encourages running the program with superuser on Linux.
