Would it be feasible to offer this as a built-from-source alternative to the precompiled -bin?

I'm not sure how worth it this is TBH, since it is a Java/Maven project which I am given to understand is rather difficult, besides which they only offer their subversion repository for source downloads. But I figured I'd ask anyway.
