[PRQ#49430] Deletion Request for gsoap287
MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for gsoap287 [2]: Abandoned, unused legacy package from 2015, with a name that does not conform to Arch package guidelines requiring only the major version number to be attached, when needed, as a suffix to pkgver (other proper Arch practice is to use dots). This PKGBUILD was for gsoap v2.8.7, not v287. The package also states it provides and conflicts with repo's gsoap, so it also violates AUR submission guidelines saying that same or different version builds of repo packages (implying such packages that cannot coexist with the repo build) should not be kept on AUR. Safe to delete: all AUR consumers actually need repo's gsoap, not this old version. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/gsoap287/
Previous maintainer disowned it two days after I submitted my deletion request.
