Deleting the package will not delete the underlying git repo. You're stuck with it.
Request #10396 has been rejected by Eschwartz [1]:
There is no such thing as "fresh starts" on the AUR, as the git backend was explicitly designed to prevent users from wiping history.
Just push your changes as a new commit.
