[aur-requests] [PRQ#33927] Deletion Request for nidaqmx-dummy
MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for nidaqmx-dummy [2]: Troll dummy package, having a source URL linking to nonexistent page on "http://doesnotexist.sourceforge.net". [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/nidaqmx-dummy/
Request #33927 has been Rejected by MarsSeed [1]: Closing this request as @AstroFloyd has explained it does serve a legitimate purpose. @AstroFloyd, the 'dummy' name is misleading, and also the source URL pointing to "doesnotexist.sourceforge.com". Please kindly rename and reupload this package without its '-dummy' name suffix, as that implies that it is deliberately nonfunctional and serves no purpose other than being an empty package or to replace an existing normal package with an empty and nonfunctional one. Once you reuploaded it under a new name, you can submit a merge request on the AUR page of nidaqmx-dummy, specifying the new package name as the merge target. That way, all the votes and comments from nidaqmx-dummy page will be transferred to the page of the new package. Additionally, please use local:// or file// protocol in source URL and add an explanatory comment about having to obtain the source archive manually. See the Arch recommendations here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Nonfree_applications_package_guidelines#Mis... Or you can even add a scripted message as seen here (line 17 and 21): https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=oracle-sgdc- bin#n17 Thanks for your cooperation, Marcell [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/
