[PRQ#78285] Deletion Request for qt5-webengine
steve4545 [1] filed a deletion request for qt5-webengine [2]: qt5-webengine is end-of-life and no longer supported by upstream. Official support for Qt 5 has ended, and Qt WebEngine 5 has not received security or functional updates for a significant period of time (several years). In addition, this package is effectively nonfunctional: recent AUR comments demonstrate that it is extremely difficult or impractical to build successfully on current Arch systems. Given that the software is both upstream-abandoned (EOL) and irreparably broken, I am requesting deletion of this package. 209 other AUR packages depends on this, the package build fine with devtools; I have builded it 3 or 4 times and I'm offering the prebuilt package here https://sourceforge.net/projects/fabiololix-os-archive/files/Packages/ There is a pinned comment about that since 2025-11-12
Request #78285 has been Rejected by Muflone [1]: as long it works there's no reason to delete it [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/Muflone/
