[aur-requests] [PRQ#19429] Merge Request for jitsi-meet-stable
fordprefect [1] filed a request to merge jitsi-meet-stable [2] into jitsi-meet [3]: duplicate, not following upstream name [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/fordprefect/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/jitsi-meet-stable/ [3] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/jitsi-meet/
Hi, This package is the combinaison of everything to make jitsi-meet works. All the packages are sync to the same version, and configure to match the distribution packages as much as possible. It includes: • jitsi-meet • jitsi-meet-prosody-plugins • jicofo • jitsi-videobridge All are compile and install like the official debian upstream. This is not a duplicate of jitsi-meet, which are only the jitsi-meet part of jitsi-meet repos. jitsi-meet-stable is a combinaison of all stable package required by jitsi-meet to works. What would be a better name for this package ? Celogeek Le 23 mai 2020 à 16:19 +0200, notify@aur.archlinux.org, a écrit :

Request #19429 has been accepted by eschwartz [1]: Thanks, the package is a lie, it claims to be "stable" but packages are by default stable. What it actually does is build 3 software bundles into one package.
The same tag is applied on jicofo, jitsi-videobridge and jitsi-meet, so this package syncs them and does a one package installation of all of them with the same version.
That's not how packaging works, and this package should definitely be deleted. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/eschwartz/
