[PRQ#74936] Deletion Request for widgie-menu-compat
oech3 [1] filed a deletion request for widgie-menu-compat [2]: libbemenu.so dependenciy is broken [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/oech3/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/widgie-menu-compat/
Hi, I think this request has been sent by mistake. I would like to refuse the deletion request. Could someone guide me on how to do so? Thanks in advance. For the request: The package does not depend on libbemenu (only widgie which also does not use it). It only contains some symlinks to make it easy to use widgie-menu instead of bemenu or dmenu even if a package directly requires them ("provides" section fulfills the dependencies). For example, if using Simple X Mobile, you can install it and it replaces the default menu app on both X11 and sway. This is the full package contents: /usr/bin/bemenu: symbolic link to /usr/bin/widgie-menu /usr/bin/bemenu-run: symbolic link to /usr/bin/widgie-menu-run /usr/bin/dmenu: symbolic link to /usr/bin/widgie-menu /usr/bin/dmenu_path: symbolic link to /usr/bin/widgie-menu-path /usr/bin/dmenu_run: symbolic link to /usr/bin/widgie-menu-run In future feel free to contact me by mail or through the comments section of the package if you bump into any problems. The package does not depend on libbemenu
Problem of this packaging is not providing (probably impossible to fix) libbemenu.so . Some pkgs at repository depending on bemenu are linked with it.

|Ah, I understand. I have no intention of providing that (libbemenu.so). There might be a way though to depend directly on the library. (According to wiki, I did not try.) depends=(libbemenu.so) If you feel my package is more in the way than it is useful, feel free to remove it. I do not think it is used by a lot (if any), and they can compile from upstream.|
Request #74936 has been Rejected by Muflone [1]: explain the maintainer how to fix the package instead of asking for deletion [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/Muflone/
