MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for python2-astropy [2]: Tried to revive this from 2019, to help some old Python 2 based astronomy packages get back to life. But it is broken beyond repair, the HDF5 scientific data format library has changed its C API headers so much that it is impossible to make this old v2.10 version work without significant engineering effort (which it seems neither the HDF5 project maintainers opted to do, nor any community developers on GitHub). So this package is not worth keeping. Neither the old Arch Linux archive version works, nor the new rebuild.
