[PRQ#50128] Deletion Request for hyperledger-indy-node
MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for hyperledger-indy-node [2]: Better to delete this broken blockchain server node package with 0 votes and comments, because it has a non-trivial dependency network, with many unmaintained, broken packages required from AUR. This network currently includes such insecure, deprecated components as aur/openssl-1.0, coming from the unmaintained VCS package python- charm-crypto-git from 2020. Also there is a missing package among the dependencies. Deleting this would allow dropping many other abandoned, unmaintained, broken AUR packages that are only required by this application. As this is a Python package that is available from PyPI under the name 'indy-node' [a], users can try to install it from there. Though the currently latest release, 1.12.6 from Aug 22, 2022 seems to be only compatible with Python 3.8 / 3.9 and setuptools < 57, before May 23, 2021. Setting up this package therefore needs some preparations anyhow, but at least it's more feasible with an older, supported Python runtime. Upstream officially supports Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and releases prepackaged DEB files for it.
