[PRQ#52217] Deletion Request for deepqt
yochananmarqos [1] filed a deletion request for deepqt [2]: Packages should never install to a user's home directory. Please see: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_package_guidelines#Directories Use system dependencies, pip should never be used. It seems you may need to add a few new Python packages for dependenciesl. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Python_package_guidelines [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/yochananmarqos/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/deepqt/
Using /usr/local/ instead isn't any better. You did notice that's also a directory that should never be used, right? If dependencies are missing from the repos or AUR, add them to the AUR and do it right, please. Sent with Proton Mail secure email. Request #52217 has been Rejected by yochananmarqos [1]: While using pipx to install dependencies in /opt/ isn't optimal, the maintainer addressed my initial concern about installing in the user's home directory and /usr/local/. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/yochananmarqos/
