[PRQ#55057] Deletion Request for perl6-test-meta Accepted
Request #55057 has been Accepted by serebit [1]: [Autogenerated] Accepted deletion for perl6-test-meta. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/serebit/
Hi @serebit, Can you maybe delete *all* packages prefixed with 'perl6-'? The majority of them have packaging issues, all of them are orphans (most are from 2017/2018, some I updated last year but then gave up), and actually Perl6 became Raku since that submission year. None of the perl6 package are in use on AUR. (Many are broken as well, several are also deprecated / abandoned by their respective upstream on favor of a different implementation.) And it is not actually useful to keep them even as templates for possible future 'raku-' packages, because none of them follow the now-recommended pure-raku build and testing procedures, so a new template would need to be created for them anyhow. Thank you for considering my proposal, and if you can and do take this up. Regardless, I continue to appreciate your valuable efforts on Arch and AUR packages. Hi @serebit,
Hey Marcell,

A [quick search][0] on the AUR for me only found 6 packages: - perl6-panda - perl-perl6-perldoc-to-ansi - perl-perl6-perldoc - perl-perl6-form - perl-perl6-export - perl-perl6-doc

All of these were maintained (or atleast have a maintainer assigned), so I really think we are looking at different data.
Thank you for considering my proposal, and if you can and do take this up.
I think the other mail was quite clear on that: There will be no future mass cleanups withouth first being (properly) coordinated among the other AUR Moderators.

Hi @gromit, Thank you for your response / inquiry. The add-on request I made in a reply email is no longer relevant. @serebit's old orphan package purge done in Feb 2024 has taken care of dropping all abandoned 'perl6-*' prefixed packages. Thank you, @serebit! Cheers, Marcell / MarsSeed On 7 March 2024 16:22:13 GMT+01:00, Christian Heusel <christian@heusel.eu> wrote:
