[pacman-dev] Please make the colourised output exactly like that of "pacman-color"

Hi All, It's great that "pacman" finally has native colour support in v4.1.0. It's just a shame that it's not as good as that of "pacman-color". Without meaning any offence, it falls way short of the mark IMHO. I'm hoping you can just replicate the colourisation of "pacman-color". For your convenience, I've attached the relevant files you'd need. I'm only requesting this because "pacman-color" no longer exists. -- Regards, Xavion.

The change in commit 9d96bed9d6b57 causes download errors for the .db.sig file in case the final URL for the .db file contains query strings or other unexpected stuff. This commit isn't intended to be a total solution, but it should eliminate the problem in the most obvious cases. --- Please comment. Does anyone know if there's a case when the final URL doesn't end in ".db", but it's still reasonable to append ".sig" to it? Hello everyone. I see a problem with --noprogressbar output, but it seems to be dependent on server/network. Can anyone confirm with the following settings? # append to pacman.conf [mingw64] Server = ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/download.sourceforge.net/pub/sourceforge/m/ms/m… $ pacman -Syy --noprogressbar My output contains multiple "downloading" lines for this DB: downloading mingw64.db... downloading mingw64.db... downloading mingw64.db... downloading mingw64.db... downloading mingw64.db... It seems that the cause is libcurl calling the progress callback multiple times before the first bytes get downloaded, which then in turns `cb_dl_progress` multiple times with `file_xfered` = 0, which then prints the message each time. I don't want to just complain, so I whipped up a quick patch. Especially when maintaining local templates in addition to the ones stored in /usr/share/makepkg-template, it can be useful to include templates stored in multiple different locations into one PKGBUILD. This patch makes this possible by allowing --template-dir to be specified multiple times. This also introduces a dedicated error message when a template cannot be found, in contrast to the already existing "Couldn't detect version for template '%s'". If a template of the same name is present in more than one of the given directories, the last one always takes precedence. Neither the default behaviour without the option given, nor the handling of a single template dir is changed. Hi. The MSYS2 package repositories are hosted on SF.net. Their balancers and/or mirrors are having problems from time to time and the users are then complaining about being unable to update databases or install packages. SF.net support says 10 seconds slow-timeout is too low. I didn't find many resources on this topic, but libalpm's source code suggests the timeout is non-configurable except when using an external downloader. Is it possible to increase the default timeout values, or to add an option to configure them in pacman.conf? -- David Macek
