Trying to strip multiple files installed to the same filepath (in different components of a split package) can produce surprising results if those files are built using different options. Per FS#63356 this is not a supported PKGBUILD configuration. Instead, warn about such cases when producing debug packages. Deltas are broken. So much so that I would strongly recommend never using a delta from a repo that you did not generate yourself. In short, we call "system(command)", with a command that includes the name of a delta file, and the name of the package file before and after applying the delta. The name of the delta and the package files is controlled by the information in the repo, and could contain a malicious command to be run as root. We could possibly work around this, but it is a very risky piece of code and I believe it would be very hard to fully secure. Instead, I propose to remove delta support completely. [pacman-dev] [PATCH 0/5] Manage signing keys using a WKD (FS#63171)

Hi, as explained in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/63171, it would be nice if pacman could receive new PGP keys and refresh expired ones using a Web Key Directory (WKD) instead of using keyservers. This patch series adds the corresponding functionality to pacman and pacman-key. Since WKD is not enabled on archlinux.org yet, it might be a little early to merge this as I have only been able to test it locally on my machine. However since this is my first potential pacman contribution, I wanted to get it out early to gather some feedback on the code. Unfortunately GnuPG/GPGME handles WKD keys quite differently from keyserver keys, so you have to jump through some hoops to enable the usual cofirm-then-import workflow for keys. WKD support for pacman is complete, so it would be possible to remove the keyserver code and rely solely on WKD if the need should arise (though this would require changes to the Arch Linux packaging policy, see the bug report). pacman-key on the other hand is lacking a convenient way of refreshing all keys using WKD, currently every key needs to be refreshed manually by e-mail address using "pacman-key -r". This is because "gpg --refresh-keys" is hardwired to use keyservers. Hopefully the situation will change in future versions of GnuPG, see the corresponding commit message for reference, if not we need to work around this by listing every key in the keyring by email and doing a refresh using WKD. remove_deps is called once, at the end of clean_up() before makepkg exit. If remove_deps returns >0 (e.g. when pressing "n" in the resulting prompt), the error is caught by the ERR signal handler. This in turns sends SIGUSR1 to the process group, with resulting exit code 138. In case remove_deps fails, this patch exits makepkg with E_REMOVE_DEPS if there was no previous error (that is, EXIT_CODE equals E_OK). Currently all debug builds will prefix /usr/src/build to the source paths. If debugging symbols are stripped into a separate package then these sources files are indeed in this path. But if the debug build is not stripped then one is left with a complex path rewriting to perform debugging. It's much easier to perform sensible path rewriting in this instance when the path is left untouched. If an option is a two-part option, we print both (separated by IFS=' '), but when grepping to see if it already exists, we only checked the first component. The rust language supports $RUSTFLAGS to be used automatically in all rustc invocations. Allow setting this in makepkg.conf (e.g. for optimization or debuginfo support), and teach debug+strip to pass the rustc command line argument necessary to rewrite source file paths in the debugging symbols. We currently support both autotools and meson, and each one has a mechanism for generating a distribution tarball which we can upload and sign. But using one won't let you build with the other build system (at least currently). autotools simply doesn't distribute meson bits, and meson will distribute anything checked into git, but not the autogen'ed content that users may well rely on. Here is a patch for each build system, which teaches it how to distribute the other's files.
