hi currently if you want to install a pkg from source or from a local package, you have to a pacman -S foo, and then a pacman -R foo. with this patch you can do a pacman -Se foo, which will install only the deps of the given pkg. this option is also usefull, when you want to install the given pkg with different options, for example with -f once this was already implemented (see #3220), but i've got no answers. now i've ported the patch to pacman3: http://frugalware.org/~vmiklos/patches/libpacman-proposed/dependsonly.diff udv / greetings, VMiklos -- Developer of Frugalware Linux, to make things frugal - http://frugalware.org
