Yeah, my concern was actually that for complete files, the backend itself (alpm) could have handled the deletion on its own, but I do recognize that it can't really predict what the partially downloaded files would look like.
I'm all for having this in (but please, increase the .so version :) )
This kind of patch only goes in major release. Major release are always so-bumped. So don't worry :)
