I guess you mean /var/lib/pacman/.... ?
Is it safe to delete all directories within that dir? I will make a copy and try it out...

Ok now I deleted the content of "/var/lib/pacman" and pacman seems to be broken! Wenn I do a "pacman -Syuw", it says my system is up to date, but I know that I had to install 200 MB of new updates... so I guess this was a bad idea? Good for me I did a backup...
