Hi and welcome to pacman-dev, Maybe you could try evaluating a bit more the actual need for the patch itself and why you think the behaviour it brings into the program is superior to the current one? Also, it would be nice had one been able to turn it on by some option rather than making it the default - would puzzle and confuse a lot of users I suppose had it been incorporated right away as the default behaviour. Regards and keep up the nice work - thanks for showing interest in pacman :) //m. -- Mateusz Jędrasik <m.jedrasik@gmail.com> tel. +48(79)022-9393, +48(51)69-444-90 http://imachine.szklo.eu.org

Hi and welcome to pacman-dev,

Long story short - during standard pacman -Su with many targets there is no way to tell when process will end.
Also, it would be nice had one been able to turn it on by some option rather than making it the default - would puzzle and confuse a lot of users I suppose had it been incorporated right away as the default behaviour.
cmon new switch to turn on that small change - this would be like shooting to fly with bazooka, about confuse i don't think so ;P
Regards and keep up the nice work - thanks for showing interest in pacman :) btw. i can't find TODO/requested features list to pacman is there any?

All feature requests are in flyspray (bugs.archlinux.org) - the new version of flyspray has "voting" support for FRs, but no one seems to notice. Head's up guys: click the "vote" button if you really want a given feature.

That's what I suspected. Roman, I don't have god-rights on flyspray, could you try and enable it so anyone registered can vote?

I don't have admin rights on flyspray. And I can edit permissions for groups only. But all users except Project managers and Developers are not in any group. -- Roman Kyrylych (Роман Кирилич)
