[pacman-dev] 3.3.2 release soon
Looks like we are going to need a new bugfix release sooner than expected. Just when 3.3.1 was released, two issues popped up : 1) the repo-add / CSIZE / any / symlink issue : http://code.toofishes.net/cgit/dan/pacman.git/commit/?h=maint&id=20aa17c276c35e08c7a8e2aa20410b99a20f8129 2) the infinite download issue : http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/16359 That's also an occasion for translators to do a quick update if needed (but there are no modified/new strings). Especially Swedish and Chinese since these two were not fully translated for 3.3.1

Do we have anyone that wants to make translation updates outside of this group? If so I can either update the PO files in their usual place or you can update them yourself in GIT and submit updates. If we don't have anything huge come up, I'm thinking a weekend release, probably my Sunday morning. -Dan

Well apparently no update coming. That's too bad, especially for Swedish and Chinese.

Isn't that even worse than before ? 408 translated messages, 17 fuzzy translations, 13 untranslated messages. 121 translated messages, 5 fuzzy translations, 7 untranslated messages. Please fix attached po files.

Otherwise you can also take the up-to-date po files from there : http://code.toofishes.net/cgit/xavier/pacman.git/log/?h=maint-working That might be even better.

Are you the one translating norwegian and swedish ? Or is this only the work of Hans-Kristian Arntzen and Christian Larsson ? At least Hans answers to mail, but Christian never did. What gives ? Please clarify.
Please check the attachment for Simplified Chinese translation, thanks. On Tue, Oct 6, 2009 at 6:52 PM, Xavier <shiningxc@gmail.com> wrote:

Hello Xavier! I couldn't reproduce those lots of error in the translation file, just some, but I tried to talk with Larsson and send mail him. He will give a feedback as soon as he will has time for it, he is a person too, and has got other things too apart from pacman translation updating, and this is not his main job :) Please be patient. Best Regards, Laszlo Papp

Or maybe Monday evening ? :) I guess it's fine to release now. And I see new users reporting the infinite download issue every day (irc, bbs). Translation status : - kk missing the new 3.3.2 string - swedish and chinese still at 3.3.0 - new greek translation fully up-to-date Not too bad in my opinion !

You can get the new po files from my git branch. Here is a link with cgit : http://code.toofishes.net/cgit/xavier/pacman.git/plain/po/zh_CN.po?h=maint-w... http://code.toofishes.net/cgit/xavier/pacman.git/plain/lib/libalpm/po/zh_CN.... But you can just translate these two messages inline, directly by mail : msgid "No packages remain, creating empty database." msgid "failed retrieving file '%s' from %s\n"

After 3 days of delay, 3.3.2 was finally released : http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2009-October/013794.h... So yes, too late, sorry. We will apply your changes to git anyway, thanks.
