[pacman-dev] Why alpm_parse_config have been dropped from libalpm 2.0?
Just wandering why such a useful function have been dropped from libalpm and moved in pacman itself. -- Stefano Esposito <stefano.esposito87@gmail.com>

There was a recent thread on this[1] in the pacman 3.2 feature requests, started by me - I was wondering the same thing. I'm currently working on moving this into its own library, to keep libalpm "pure" (ie. package management stuff only) but to still allow frontend-writers to share the code. I'm almost done, too. :) I'll be submitting a patch or something of that sort in short order. [1]http://archlinux.org/pipermail/pacman-dev/2007-August/009194.html -- Travis
