devome [1] filed a request to merge wechat-universal [2] into wechat- bin [3]: The existing packages wechat-universal and wechat-universal-privilege were packaged in different containerization methods based on actual needs during the old version period of WeChat. Among them, wechat- universal-privilege uses bubblewrap packaging, while wechat-universal uses systemd packaging. Starting from 4.x.x.x, WeChat has removed distribution validation and no longer requires the use of bubblewrap or systemd for containerization. It can be run directly. I have already communicated with the maintainers [lihe07](https://aur.archlinux.org/account/lihe07) of wechat-universal and wechat-universal-privileged, please refer to: [comment-997202](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/wechat-universal- privileged#comment-997202) and [comment-997273](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/wechat-universal- privileged#comment-997273), we unanimously agree that wechat-universal and wechat-universal-privileged have achieved their historical mission and can be merged into the new package wechat-bin. Let time prove that wechat-bin is still more popular than any alternative. Thank you for your attention. AUR/wechat has illegally merged[1] AUR/wechat-bin (which is much cleaner than this) and AUR/wechat-bwrap, setting "placeholder" packages[2,3] and trying to force end-users to use AUR/wechat. This maintainer also changed the package's source to "UOS system" version[4], while the official version is available from wechat's official website.[5] (while AUR/wechat-bin respects the origin) Before this user can finally figure out how dependencies work, and respect the final/original source of this software, I think we should remove this package to not break up purity for dependencies. [PRQ#57762] Merge Request for wechat-beta-bwrap

7Ji [1] filed a request to merge wechat-beta-bwrap [2] into wechat- universal-bwrap [3]: The native Linux client `Wechat (Beta)` was released as `Wechat (Universal)` on the Uniontech OS appstore officially [a], being a distinct package (`com.tencent.wechat`) from the previous `wechat-uos` package (`com.tencent.weixin`, available on AUR as `wechat-uos`[b] and `wechat-uos-bwrap`[c]). As this is official, having `beta` in the name does not make sense any more. To make this distinct from the previous package that's not built natively for Linux, I've created a new PKGBUILD `wechat-universal- bwrap`, please merge the `-beta` into `-universal`. About the intentionally duplicated package wechat-beta-bwrap and wechat-universal and unmaintained orginal package wechat-uos

I propose submitting WeChat-beta-bwrap to enable the "beta" version of WeChat to be compatible with Arch Linux. As an AUR package, I believe that "wechat-uos-bwrap" is not the appropriate solution. It includes excessive and unnecessary features and dependencies in its PKGBUILD, such as moeOS detection and an excessive number of system call filters. In reality, I am not personally interested in WeChat. However, 7Ji has made significant and commendable efforts in developing "wechat-universal-bwrap", which has made WeChat functional enough to meet the requirements.
