Hi, This will not be happening until the release of python-2.7 (scheduled for late June). Given that is going to be (or at least is most likely to be...) the last major python2 release, it will be a good time to transition towards python3 usage. I have made notes at http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:Python_Todo_List outlining how the transition will occur. Any comments are welcomed. Allan

Bring back support for `diff -NUM', where NUM is a number, even when conforming to POSIX 1003.1-2001. This change reverts to the behavior of GNU diff 2.7 and earlier. This is a change only when conforming to POSIX 1003.1-2001; there is no effect when conforming to older POSIX versions. This change is in response to decisions taken in the January 2005 Austin Group standardization meeting. This simple patch allows us to slowly migrate to xz compressed packages. New packages have to be xz compressed while old ones may keep their current compression until they will be replaced by an update. The *.pkg.tar.* naming scheme has to be kept. I also removed the convert-to-any which we don't need.
