When starting gnome here is a delay before the panel shows up, and then the clock is missing. From .xsession-errors: ** (nautilus:3085): WARNING **: libwebkit-1.0.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Installing libwebkit makes this problem go away: The panel loads instantly, with the clock, no error message I'm runnning off [testing]. I've seen this on a non-[testing] computer though.

Hello, It was a few things I could not explain with bluez and udev. When my system start killswitch off and i toggle killswitch after, bluetoothd is auto started. When my system starts with killswitch on, bluetoothd is not started. (a bit confusing) After adding hooks in rc, bluetoothd refuse to start at boot because it needs dbus! If I searched on google before trying to debug I saved a few hours: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=112161 So, this situation is a bit confusing, so why do not remove /lib/udev/rules.d/97-bluetooth.rules? >From my test bluetoothd, doesn't kill itself when it's run by /etc/rc.d/bluetooth. [arch-general] wicd splitted in 'wicd' and 'wicd-gtk'

Hi, like requested as a feature request (FS#22550) and as a solution to one bug (FS#22423), I have splitted the wicd package into two seperated packages. From now on there is wicd: All stuff you need to run the wicd daemon and the wicd-cli and wicd-curses interfaces wicd-gtk: All stuff you need to run the GTK interface of wicd and the autostart file for the client to appear in the systray. If you are familiar with a project spearheaded by Red Hat called Func, Salt is very similar. On Thursday I released my first release of the Salt remote execution manager, Salt is a tool to allow an admin to execute remote commands on sets of systems over the network in an extremely fast and efficient way. Hi guys, I'm looking through initscripts to make sure systemd is compatible. In doing so I think I ran across the following possible simplification of rc.sysinit. Comments? I'd be especially interested in hearing about usecases where the attached patch would lead to regressions. ----- Running depmod on boot should not be necessary as the packages installing modules should be responsible for updating the dependencies themselves (and they do, at least the packages I looked through). Furthermore, as modules can be loaded very early in boot (by e.g. udev), but depmod can only be called after root is mounted rw, we can not rely on depmod fixing broken module dependencies. [arch-general] Pacman db files and permissions.

Hi, It seems to me that something has changed regarding the way pacman handles permissions of its files since 3.5. I updated to pacman 3.5 yesterday, and today tried to do a pacman -Ss <foo> as my normal user. I got some "error: could not open file" errors and it bailed. Now, I have my umask set as 077, but this didn't seem to affect the way pacman worked before: % ls -l /var/lib/pacman/sync/core/pacman-3.4.3-1/desc -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 370 Mar 17 19:53 /var/lib/pacman/sync/core/pacman-3.4.3-1/desc % ls -l /var/lib/pacman/sync/core.db -rw------- 1 root root 38K Mar 18 05:25 /var/lib/pacman/sync/core.db Did pacman used to set the permissions on things it had downloaded, and this hasn't been added to the .db file handling code?
