Hi just noticed that that spamd has failed reporting /usr/bin/perl: error while loading shared libraries: libperl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory but locate libperl.so gives /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl/CORE/libperl.so but there is no libperl.so in /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl/CORE/ this was working fine untill yesterdays pacman -Suy which completed without a reported problem Pete . -- Linux 7-of-9 3.2.9-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Mar 1 09:31:13 CET 2012 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) 9600B Quad-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

Don't trust locate. It uses a database which can easily be out of date.
but there is no libperl.so in /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl/CORE/
this was working fine untill yesterdays pacman -Suy which completed without a reported problem
`pacman -S perl` Did your system crash during/after the upgrade? Is your disk full (space and inodes)? Is/was your file system broken and fsck "repaired" it? -- Florian Pritz

Hi not that i can see anywhere it just closes bang nothing in the logs about a segfault . The only thing i have installed recently is Handbrake and a few CLI scripts to convert my music from .ogg to mp3 for the car (it wont play ogg not happy with that) but they just run then terminate Pete . -- Linux 7-of-9 3.2.11-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Mar 15 09:19:02 CET 2012 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) 9600B Quad-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

hi there! For clarity, launch said program from a terminal and check output there. The place where such logs go in "sane" window managers is ~/.xsession-errors, it's just that I stopped trusting that thing. cheers! mar77i
