mirror.franscorack.com - Maintenance notice

Hi, I've been preparing a network core upgrade for mirror.franscorack.com to permanently fix some issues and replace the aging router at the center of the network with a custom OPNSense router. As this is a whole-network upgrade, mirror.franscorack.com will be completely offline during the maintenance. The maintenance is scheduled to happen during July 5th, with no specific timelines as of when the maintenance will begin/end. Sorry in advance for any inconvenience this might cause.

I apologize for this being extremely short notice, as I had something crop up that has forced me to do so. The server may be down a day or more. I will announce once service has been restored. Hello, Arch mirror mirror.franscorack.com is going to have degraded uptime as I will be applying performing maintenance on the network core today at 20:00 EST and possibly Saturday at 20:00 EST. Best case scenario, nothing goes down and minor speed issues occur. Worst case scenario, the mirror goes down entirely for a brief period of time. Sorry for any inconvenience.

One of the servers used for running mirror.franscorack.com will enter maintenance at a later date this month (estimates ~ April 25th). Multiple drives in multiple ZFS pools are currently dying, and instead of simply replacing those drives, the server will be upgraded to a single new bigger storage pool. Why the change? The storage comes from my old NAS and the current pool config is all over the place (There are 6 pools in total). The changes will remove complexity, improve reliability and consistency as the new drives are all of the same model and upgraded from a mix of desktop & NAS (even some laptop drives, I have no idea why I did this) class to fully enterprise-class SAS drives. More precise dates will be announced when the delivery date for the new hardware gets closer. Impact on mirror.franscorack.com: - Moderate performance degradation during the operation (3 GBPS -> ~1GBPS, caused by slower storage). Note: The mirror will not go offline during this operation since there is a loadbalancer in place that will redirect all traffic to slower but working servers (2 in total). I have officially closed the HTTP port (which was just a redirect to HTTPS anyway). I previously said I would close it on April 8, 2025 or when pacman-mirrorlist got an update removing the HTTP endpoint, whichever happened later. April 8, 2025 happened later. It's just a coincidence that it's being closed on the 1 year anniversary of the 2024 solar eclipse. The closure date is just 60 days after the endpoint got removed from the mirror status page.

Hello, Please note that the main *MeowSMP.net* mirror (which serves all projects) will be offline for scheduled maintenance on *13 April 2025*, from *06:00 to 12:00 GMT+7* (Vietnam time).
