Ok seems to be a qemu-kvm issue.
I am doing some tests, and qemu cdrom seems to works as expected if more than one cd-rom drive is used but fails with only one cd-rom drive.
Fails on IDE cdrom (default used when -cdrom parameter is used), but works with SCSI cdrom (-drive file=archlinux-2010.06.29-netinstall-i686.iso,if=scsi,media=cdrom,boot)
