Hello everyone, I noticed that there are several duplicates of extra packages in the AUR or at least they share the same name. [aur-general] Can't upload package to AUR

Hi, I've just built the new version of kernel26-fbcondecor (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=15603) based on the split package kernel26 from [core]/abs. It builds and installs fine and it creates every three packages. The first problem is that makepkg --source doesn't include the .install file into the package. The second problem is that I can't upload the archive which I then created with tar cfvz kernel26-fbcondecor.tar.gz kernel26-fbcondecor which includes the file kernel26.install. When I try to upload it I get a page with this error message: "Submit Use `makepkg --source` to generate source packages for submission! Invalid name: only lowercase letters are allowed." The package name is definitely correct. Is this a bug in AUR? If AUR parses the PKGBUILD's variable pkgname then it should parse the variable pkgbase instead if it's a split package because pkgname is an array in split packages. Greetings, Heiko

[aur-general] perl prereleases request to make official decision to deviate from general guidleines

I'm working on a PKGBUILD for perl 5.12 and I notice that it's providing 20 some odd prerelease modules. I'm annoyed but I can't do anything about it. The general PKGBUILD guidelines say use the same as upstream unless there is a hyphen. so for a perl prerelease of 0.90_1 that guideline follows to release it as exactly the same. However 0.90_1 is == 0.90.1 and greater than 0.90 which it is a prerelease for on cpan. I'd like to suggest that for perl the official guideline be to make the version 0.90_pre1 Dist::Zilla a release automation tool also allows for using a format _TRIAL which is not yet popular on cpan but does happen should pacman add a _trial ? to the list of options? [aur-general] PKGVER (prerelease hell)

so CPAN use something like 0.90_1 to mean 0.90_rc1 however I know that pacman see's this as 0.90.1 (essentially not literally) making it greater than 0.90. would just packaging it as 0.90_rc1 make it appear as less than 0.90?
