I've notified the maintainers of the two current AUR consumers that this package is broken and should be removed from (check/make)depends and disabled in check() if necessary. Safe to delete, not useful to keep. (The two dependents are already failing to build until maintainer takes action.) [PRQ#45347] Deletion Request for ethminer-ocl-git

MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for ethminer-ocl-git [2]: Discontinued since Apr 2022, repo archived. [a] On Sep 15, 2022, the original Ethereum was replaced by the incompatible Ethereum 2, which no longer requires coin mining because it is based on proof-of-stake, not proof-of-work like Ethereum 1. [b] Therefore old Ethereum tools like this one are no longer viable with the current mainstream version. (Though there is a community hard fork of this called etcminer, for what is now dubbed "Ethereum Classic". [aur-requests] [PRQ#34980] Deletion Request for jdk-devel-docs

MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for jdk-devel-docs [2]: Addon documents package for the defunct 'jdk-devel' package (Oracle Java 11 Development Kit preview version). Both packages are orphaned and source is behind Oracle paywall. Both 'jdk-devel' and 'jdk-devel-docs' names are confusingly too broad because of legacy reasons. These are not based on OpenJDK but on Oracle's version of JDK. I think it is not useful to keep this package. Oracle insider access subscribers can likely download / access the non-public documentation already, without this defunct package. Also the majority of the development is not done by Oracle behind closed doors, but by a collaborative open-source community (OpenJDK). Maybe that's the reason for the limited and diminished interest for this Oracle-based package during the last few years. [a] And in this particular case, there's no possibility of finding forks, because this package was using prebuilt binaries made by the author who chose to deliberately violate his own original clash software's GPL license by not disclosing the derivative source code of 'Clash Premium'. [b] Btw it's creepy that several PRC censorship evasion software repos were deleted on the same day: November 3, 2023. And many other related ones owned by different people were archived on that date. [aur-requests] [PRQ#16865] Deletion Request for gapid

1ace [1] filed a deletion request for gapid [2]: This package has been out of date since june (even though it's only been reported in october), PKGBUILD is a mess (dumping debian binaries from gapid-1.6.1-linux.deb into /opt when it should be installing gapid-1.6.1-linux.zip into the appropriate folders in /usr/), and the result doesn't even work (paths are not being set correctly in the json files and these files are not in the right folder so none of vulkan can work). All of this has been fixed in the more appropriately named package `gapid-bin` on the AUR (that I maintain), so this package (`gapid`) should be deleted, in case someone wants to write a PKGBUILD to build this from source (I don't plan on doing that myself). This PKGBUILD relies on Qt Group's public repo as source, which is typically behind the source used by the stable PKGBUILD in extra repo. Because upstream delays the public availability of Qt5 patches by one year, but allows the KDE project to cherry-pick and backport most of the patches accepted for Qt5 but not yet publicly pushed to Qt5 branch by Qt Group. The extra repo package uses KDE's updated Qt5 source. Therefore it is both better for users to use, and also newer, and has less bugs. [aur-requests] [PRQ#34771] Deletion Request for virtualbox-modules-lts

MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for virtualbox-modules-lts [2]: Oprhaned package, created in 2017, last updated in Feb 2021. Name and description a little vague, but it seems this was intended to build virtualbox-host-modules for the Arch linux-lts kernel. Already in 2017, it was indicated that its provides field is wrong, but it was not addressed. Also there are other reports of build failures from 2020 and 2021, none of which have been replied to. As of now this package is definitely not needed, as the Arch [community] repo does provide 'VIRTUALBOX-HOST-MODULES' in virtualbox-host-dkms package. That package expliciy declares: replaces= virtualbox-host-modules-lts. The package works with the linux-lts kernel if that is installed. Also reiterating that this is not a duplicate. This package is pre-compiled by our CI on GitHub. The "-bin" name is in accordance with the AUR packaging guidelines.
