With the latest update of texlive-core, some new hyphenation patterns cause TeX capacity to be exceeded when some formats are created. In the file /usr/share/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf, change the line trie_size = 600000 to trie_size = 700000 Then run sudo fmtutil-sys --missing and everything will be fine.

I want to wish a warm welcome to our new developer and bluetooth maintainer, Geoffroy Carrier (gcarrier) For those who don't know Geoffroy, he's been with us for some time, helped out with pacman development (in particular, with code in the signed-packages arena), and has been a TU for since May of this year. He plans on primarily helping us out with Bluetooth packages (which we've been slacking on these days), among other things. Hip-hip-hooray!

Subject: [arch-announce] JRE and JDK Moved to Community

As some of you may have noticed, the sun Java Runtime Environment and the Java Development Kit have spent too much time waiting in the extra repository waiting for some love. However, no developer was excited to maintain these packages. Since we already have the OPENJDK6 package, an open source implementation of the JRE and JDK, we have decided to move the JRE and JDK packages to community, where Geoffroy Carrier will be taking good care of them. He has already updated the packages and fixed their pending bugs. Thanks Geoffroy for your good deed. No package in the official Arch Linux repositories depends on these packages, as they have already been recompiled against OPENJDK6. However, I want to thank the community for its understanding, and we're sorry for any inconvenience. <b>Why move them, other than the reason given above?</b> Well, we wanted to favor the open source implementation against the closed source implementation. <b>No, really, why did you move them?</b> Because Aaron Griffin said so. :-D <em>(just joking)</em>

Just install the pkgstats package (pacman -Sy pkgstats), run the /usr/bin/pkgstats script as a user and help the Arch developers prioritize their efforts. Come on, all the cool kids are doing it. To ZSH Users: The 4.3.9 zsh upgrade must be forced, as the package now properly handles the unzipped man pages. Before they were unzipped in the .install file, meaning the files weren't tracked in the pacman db, now they are never zipped with the '!zipman' options flag. Thanks to Xavier/shining for being a patient, bug and patch submitting awesome dude. Sorry for the inconvenience. (Remember to only -Sf zsh , not -Syfu. Unless you want that.)

X.Org 7.4 has been moved to extra. After sitting in testing for quite some months, it's time to move this package. This version fixes quite some issues present in the old version we had in extra. This version contains some important changes: - Input hotplugging is enabled by default now. See http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg_input_hotplugging for more information. - nvidia-71xx is no longer supported and has been removed from the repositories. Affected users should install xf86-video-nv or xf86-video-vesa, complaints can be sent to nvidia for not providing compatible drivers.
