Man, I had a big long response in my head, and you said it all in one
sentence. Go Dan!

As a side note: Should we set some sort of "reserved" numbers for
official packages? Something like this may get ugly:

new package extra/foo adds gid 200
new package community/bar adds gid 201
new package extra/baz adds gid 202
