I had sent Jason a python 2.6 patch but I guess he has been busy 
lately.  Can you push this patch which fixes optdepends stuff 
(http://dev.archlinux.org/~allan/gitweb/gitweb.cgi?p=namcap.git;a=commitdiff;h=00867b81)  


I have been using the git version for a while and think a new release 
would be good.
