I think the question is if we are happy to have the debuginfod service running on gemini, or if we want another service for this purpose. This is also why I wanted some time on this on a future devops meeting :) So hopefully we can lay down some problems and solutions. > > - Test and deploy the dbscripts support for debug packages. > > Is this separate of the Git migration? E.g. Doctrine, Elastic-Search, ... * Software that was written for PHP 5 and was never properly ported to 7 will not work; e.g. FluxBB we use for our Forums * Updating software to work with PHP 8 is quite easy though and I expect way less issues than the back in the days when we transitioned from 5 to 7 * A lot of developers use Arch, therefor I would like to provide PHP 8 as soon as possible which in turn should speed up the migration or everybody * I will check if we could provide php7 packages alongside version 8 so people can start developing for 9 but still are able to run some apps with 7. PHP 7 will be supported by upstream for almost 2 years: https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php I'll keep you updated. Eventually it *might* be entirely deprecated in favor of gitlab, but we should keep it running for now. The migration will happen tomorrow around 1PM UTC, if there aren't any issues. As part of this effort, patchwork has also been migrated to version 3.0.0. Regards, Giancarlo Razzolini -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... One notable change is that we stopped using postfix for incoming patches and we're now using fetchmail. We have done a few tests with incoming emails, but if there are any issues, please, let us know. We plan to fully decommission the server on the 31th. If anyone knows any reason not to, please, let us know. We'll keep backups of it for a couple of months, after it's gone. We had to change some mailing list ids which used to be @archlinux.org to @lists.archlinux.org to mitigate anti spam issues. Sending to @archlinux.org still works as usual though. ``` Due to issues with our anti spam measures, we had to migrate those mailing lists, that were sent from @archlinux.org before to the @lists.archlinux.org domain. Submission to the mailing list is not affected and still works with @archlinux.org. Mails get redirected automagically. The only change that may need to be considered on your side are filters and rules matching the From or List-id header which changed accordingly. ``` If you have improvement suggestions, please let me know!
