[arch-events] [Germany] coming events in 2009

I think it's a good time now to discuss in what events we want to take
part in 2009. Either with our own booth or only for a developer &
community meeting.

3 big events have established here that we might discuss:

1) 14th/15th March '09 Chemnitz

http://chemnitzer.linux-tage.de/2009/info/

2) 24th-27th June '09 Berlin

http://www.linuxtag.org

3) end of August '09 St.Augustin

http://www.froscon.de

If we want to take part in one or more event we should apply early
enough. For the Chemnitz event the deadline is already running.

I've been at all events over the past few years, so now my personal
opinion:

I suggest to leave out the very commercial event in Berlin. ArchLinux
and the members that usually represent it are quiet funny and a bit
geeky guys. So maybe we don't fit very well there. And it's a bit
expensive for everybody there.

FrosCon is a cheep event for us. But it doesn't have many
visitors. It's still a nice place to meet for hacking and talking but
we haven't had many community members seen there. We've been there with
a dev room for the last two years and an additional booth this year.

I'd rather like to see us come together this year in Chemnitz. We could
have a booth or a developer room. It's quiet a big event but it kept
staying community based. It's cheep except the travel costs for some
people. The program is always nice and usually interesting from
technical view. Sure it's a bit too far away for some people to get
there. But you can say that for every location in Germany.

Do you know other events we should have a look at? Something in snowy
Austria or NorthSea shore?

Opinions?

sunny place...)
