Yes your kernel 2.6.26 is <2.6.27. However the 2.6.27 kernel you are
trying to upgrade to isn't.

As announced in the frontpage news http://www.archlinux.org/news/414/ :

Switching to iwl3945 is probably the easier solution. Make sure you
download the firmware:

pacman -S iwl-3945-ucode
