Archlinux doesn't support i586 in any way. Not the kernel, not the
packages, so you're bound to community projects. One that has recent
updates is this one:
http://archlinux-i586.org/

I don't know the quality of the packages there, as I don't have any i586
boxes where I would run archlinux on.
