Likely the update breaks some external modules. Do you have any module
packages installed that are not part of the kernel package? If yes, you
can append "disablemodules=module1,module2" to the kernel commandline.
These modules may have to be rebuilt - if you find some, tell us which
ones they are.
If you have no idea, appending "verbose" to the commandline may give
more clues.
