What do you call a "routine upgrade". Which package were involved (kernel ?

I suspect udev fails to do the right things.

There is nothing wrong here. Nearly same state here (only a few rules in
rules.d, unrelated to sound) and sound is working correctly (only using
intel_hda crap on that computer).


 This is a professional studio and I'm expecting clients tomorrow at 09:00.
