32-bit or 64-bit? Updating to e2:fsprogs-1.42.10-1-x86_64 did work here
at >= 08:33 +0200.

Did you reinstall the package xz, just in case the error isn't caused by
the package e2fsprogs, but something should be fishy with xz?
